Do you have a window that is lower than 31.5 feet from the ground outside? Then the window is best. Otherwise, the menorah should be placed in the doorway or within 3.2 inches of the doorway between 11.4 inches and 31.5 inches from the floor. Every family and community might have a different custom so follow that custom.
